DEUTSCHES INSTITUT was founded in 2001 by Rajamoni Vadakkedathu. He has studied German language, Sociology, Political Science, and Indology at the Westfälische Wilhelms University in Münster, Germany. Living in the Federal Republic of Germany for nearly two decades, he founded the Deutsches Institut in Changanacherry after his return from Germany with the intention to promote the German Language and Culture in the state of Kerala, India

The Deutsches Institut- ÖSD Prüfungszentrum, Changanacherry is an official exam cooperation partner of the ÖSD -Österreichisches Sprachdiplom Deutsch- and conducts various ÖSD German Exams at Deutsches Institut Changanacherry, Kerala. The service includes, among other things, the announcement of various examination dates and the professional implementation of the exams as well as the fast results and certificate service.
The ÖSD provides a wide range of internationally recognized exams that are accepted worldwide by Universities, Embassies, Employers, Professional bodies, and Governments. The exams are based on the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), starting at A1 for beginners through to C2 for professional language skills at the highest level.
